During our recent trip to the heel and boot of Italy, I snapped this shot on a walk around the city of Matera. The image was  a mash-up of such ridiculously unrelated items, I just had to do something with it.

Enter our friend Richard who is a regular winner in the Detroit papers’ caption contests.  I knew he wouldn’t let me down. I sent him the photo and was rewarded a few moments later with the following gem: “Creative entrepreneurs have started advertising that their transportation services in Italy come with built-in restrooms at no extra charge!”

That gave me a good chuckle and I could have left it at that. But I wanted to know what he’d do with the snail. (He’d missed it on the first go-round.) He replied with a swiftness snails can only dream about: “Escargot – more slowly on two wheels.”
I don’t know if they do move more slowly on two wheels or four, if they are having the ride of their lives, or are scared outta their shells. I never would have thought to enter escargot territory. Thank you, Richard, for some great laughter on a gray, snowy day.

OK, here is my somewhat feeble attempt, “My friends told me this transport came with a barf bag, but how the heck do I open it?”
