“Other people are not failed attempts at being me.”
The friend who shared this quote had no attribution, but oh what a cold splash of truth it is! How often do friends, family, spouses, co-workers and even stangers frustrate us because they don’t think/live/behave/vote/entertain/insert-your-own-issue-here just like we do?
So the next time I find myself gritting my teeth and start mind-shouting, “Why can’t you just….?” it will be good to remember: other people are not failed attempts at being me, other people are not failed attempts at being me, other people are not failed attepts at being me.
